The vestibular system encourages a sense of balance and coordinated movements. This selection of varied games helps meet the need for sensory stimulation in children, especially those with specific problems analysing and regulating sensory information. This equipment will help stimulate the vestibular system by providing contrasting perceptions to manage, such as speed, rotation, orientation and the child’s movements in space and time. Swaying and balancing in a hammock or on a balance board, stepping onto the motor skills board or whirling around on the carousel or the spinner are all fun and therapeutic ways of helping children to better integrate vestibular sensory information as part of body awareness and to manage their movements.
