Protection policy on personal data

1. Introduction

Wesco company, concerned with the protection of the personal data of its customers, undertakes to ensure the best level of protection in accordance with the European and French regulations in force. The automated processing of nominative data made from Wesco e-commerce sites has been the subject of a prior declaration to the French National Commission for Computing and Liberties (CNIL – www.cnil.fr/en/home), registered under the No. 1307210.

2. Responsibility for the processing of personal data

Personal data is collected by WESCO, a Limited Company with a Board of Directors and Supervisory Board, under French law, with a capital of € 1,000,000. Wesco has its registered office at Avenue du General Marigny, Route de CHOLET 79140 CERIZAY, FRANCE, and is registered in the NIORT Trade and Companies Register under the number 304 764 863.

3. Purposes of collection and processing of personal data

The collection of personal data is carried out on the site www.wesco-eshop.ie within the following headings and fields :

  • « Create my account » ;
  • « Receive our newsletter » ;
  • « Contact us » ;
  • as part as an order creation with or without account creation ;
  • page "My basket"
  • as part of participating in a quiz on the e-commerce site.

 

We collect and process data such as your surname, first name, address, email address, password, phone number, IP address, connection data and navigation data, order history, preferences and interests, products added to the basket, claims.

The mandatory or optional nature of the data is indicated by an asterisk during collection. The collected data is stored under conditions designed to ensure their security and confidentiality.

The personal data collected is necessary for one or more of the following purposes :

  • management, monitoring and processing of your orders on the e-commerce site ;
  • management of the delivery of your orders on the e-commerce site ;
  • claims and after-sales service management ;
  • managing your subscription to the newsletter and sending the corresponding email campaigns ;
  • managing abandoned cart emails
  • customization of the services offered ;
  • reply to your messages as part of the contact form ;
  • sending customer satisfaction survey ;
  • sending catalogues or addressed advertisements.

 

When you make a payment on our site, WESCO does not collect your payment details but only a payment identifier and the first 6 and last 4 digits of your card to allow you to recognize the card that was used for payment. All your bank details are collected only by our PCI-DSS certified payment service provider, which guarantees the security of payments.

4. Recipients of personal data

WESCO has ensured that all subcontractors it has selected comply with the European Data Protection General Regulation of 27 April 2016 and have implemented security measures valid for all countries of the European Union. These subcontracting companies may be involved in the following missions (non-exhaustive list):

  • the delivery of your orders on the e-commerce website ;
  • routing of commercial email campaigns ;
  • the standardization of the addresses and the routing of the addressed mails …

None of your personal data collected by Wesco is communicated, transferred or resold to third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

The use of the sharing feature via social networks may result in the transfer of personal data but this transfer depends on the user who takes sole responsibility, Wesco not being able to control this transfer that is not at his initiative.

5. Shelf life of your personal data

Correspondences and documents received or sent via e-mail are kept for a minimum of one year and are then archived by backup for a period of 10 years with limited access for limited reasons and authorised by the law (payment, guarantee, disputes ..).

Personal data are kept as long as you are an "active" customer and for a period of 5 years from your last activity and archived for a period of 10 years with restricted access for limited reasons and authorised by law (payment , guarantee, litigation ..).

A customer is "active" for example when he makes a purchase, connects to his customer area, or as long as a contract or guarantee is in progress.

The destruction of the archives is subject to a modus operandi ensuring that all the archives have been destroyed.

6. Security measures on personal data

Wesco attaches the utmost importance to the protection and security of its information systems. Responsible for the processing of your personal data, Wesco undertakes to take all necessary measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data collected, in accordance with the regulations in force. As such, technical and organisational security measures have been implemented.

To make online payment of your orders, your information and banking data are collected by our payment service provider: Ingenico, certified PCI-DSS, standard data security for major groups of payment cards.

7. Your rights on personal data

By accepting our general conditions of sale, you give your consent that Wesco collects, processes and uses the personal data that you provide in the conditions mentioned above.

In accordance with the regulations in force, you have a right of access, rectification, opposition, erasure, portability and limitation of the processing of information concerning you. You can exercise this right on simple request:

To facilitate the processing of your request, we advise you to advise your last name, first name, email or postal address and your customer number.

In accordance with the regulations in force, your application must be signed and accompanied by a photocopy of an identity card bearing your signature and specify the address to which the reply must be sent. An answer will be sent to you within a maximum of 1 month following receipt of the request.

In case of correction, we will send you, on request, a copy of the information as rectified.
