The felt hen

  • Trace the shape of the hen onto a sheet of felt. Fold the sheet in half and cut out the shape to obtain two identical parts of the hen's body.
  • Cut out two wing shapes from a sheet of adhesive fabric and stick them onto both sides of the body.
  • Cut the shape of the beak out of a piece of felt.
  • Sew a bead in place of the eye on each of the body shapes.
  • Position the two parts of the body and sew them together, leaving a thumb's width open.
  • Create padding by inserting cotton wool between the two parts of the body.
  • Sew on the beak and finish the seam, pulling the bead sewing threads out to create a loop for hanging.
