The chew strips can be used as flat spoons for people with limited control of the lips and/or difficulty taking the food from the spoon. Textured on one side and smooth on the other, they are an excellent tongue guide. They also offer a tactile sensation and develop fine motor skills as the child moves their fingers over 4 different textured sections – small bumps, bigger bumps, straight lines and diagonal lines – and has fun folding, turning or rolling them.
Works best with pureed foods such as yoghurt, apple sauce, stage 1 baby foods, etc. Each spoon is rigid enough to hold food, but retains some flexibility in the event that baby has a strong bite reflex. They can also be used as tongue depressors.
