Steps

  • A short trip outside is a must to collect the most beautiful leaves of the season (about ten or so).
  • Download and print the Johnny the lion Wesco template in A3 format.
  • Take a sheet of Canson paper and position it on the printed version using paperclips.
  • With a pencil, trace the lion onto the Canson sheet by placing everything against a windowpane.
  • Color the inside of the drawing using watercolor pencils.
  • Prepare a paintbrush and a pot of water, then paint the colored parts.
  • Using our Posca or Skrib markers, retrace the outlines of the lion (previously drawn with a pencil).
  • Ask an adult for help to cut around the outline of the lion's ears using a utility knife (so that they can be brought to the foreground when the leaves are glued).
  • Take the glue and the leaves collected earlier to create the lion's mane. Let your imagination run wild combining the different colored leaves.
  • Unfold the ears to bring them to the front of the glued leaves.

  • The portrait is ready to be given as a gift or displayed on the wall.
