Open the case and place a plastic bag inside, ideally filled with foam. This serves two purposes: first, it prevents the felt-tip pen from bleeding through, and second, it allows you to visualize the 3D effect of the design.
Then place the stencil on the pencil case, and trace the outlines of the animal using a fabric marker.
Color the inside of the design using the fabric markers.
Position the buttons on the pencil case in the desired locations to determine the length of thread needed for the project.
After cutting it to the desired size, thread the satin cord through the decorative buttons.
Apply a small amount of glue (fabric glue for better adhesion) to the back of each button, then glue them on one by one. Use pins to hold them in place if necessary.
Leave to dry for about 20 minutes.
All that's left is to glue on the crocodile's eye!
Start by cutting the organza ribbon to the desired length, and tie it inside the zipper slider of the pencil case.
Next, cut 4 ribbons, using the length of the pencil case as a reference.
Apply glue to the back of one of the ribbons, then position it in the desired location. Hold it in place using small pins.
Repeat the same process for the 3 other ribbons.
Then choose the buttons that will decorate the pencil case and define their location. All that's left is to glue them, and eventually sew them afterwards, to ensure a longer life for the pencil case!
