The waterproof mattress is a good solution during toilet training stages. It may seem strange but I bought it for my dog who is becoming incontinent. Perfectly waterproof and very comfortable, it does not sag even under the weight of my 50kg dog. The downside is that the fabric is a bit thin (for dog claws) but for a baby no problem (since that was its original use).
